20 May 2024 marks the first day of the first CATAL1. 5°T Acceleration Bootcamp in Latin America. For five days, start-ups, experts and mentors form the climate tech ecosystem gathered at the ITESM Mexico City campus to exchange ideas, tools and tips to take climate ventures to the next level. Ten startups from Colombia, Argentina, Peru, and Mexico, selected for their innovative solutions with high mitigation potential and promising business models, participated in the CATAL1.5°T Accelerator Program.

Within the framework of the Accelerator Program, the Bootcamp serves as a first comprehensive training space for startups to access methodological and learning tools to face the challenges that climate and technological entrepreneurship is exposed to.

During the Bootcamp, the startups engaged in mentoring sessions and conferences led by experts and addressed topics like climate impact, ESG, business strengthening and leadership. The importance of access to private capital to promote the development of a startup was also highlighted.

Eric Pérez-Grovas, co-founder of the Wollef Investment Fund, stressed the importance of maximizing the limited time available during a pitch to persuade investors to support an idea. Eric shared strategies and tools for startups to enhance their chances of securing investment.

Moreover, Pablo Croci, CEO of MOT and The Key Results Company, delved into OKRs (Objectives and Key Results), a methodology for setting and achieving challenging goals that facilitate exponential growth. Nadia Michelle Torres, Learning Director at Laboratoria L+, discussed improving company-customer relationships to enhance value propositions and understand customer interactions for increased sales.

In this way, CATAL1.5°T beyond funding, enhances the growth of startups through technical support, linkage and generation of a support network.
