Demo Day of the Pre-Accelerator Programme: a boost to the future of climate entrepreneurship

On October 28 and 29, 2024, the Demo Day of the CATAL1.5°T Pre-Accelerator Programme was held virtually. This programme is aimed at emerging climate startups from Latin America. Selected participants receive technical assistance on ESG criteria, climate impact, and business development to help them consolidate their minimum viable product or improve an existing prototype, for this purpose, they also receive funding of fifteen thousand euros.

In this sense, the Demo Day marks an important milestone in the mission of promoting climate startups in Latin America. During the event, 19 startups from various categories presented their innovative climate solutions to a jury of experts in investment, climate technology development and entrepreneurship. The Demo Day was divided into two sessions: on October 28, where projects in the areas of Mobility and Transportation, Energy, Land Use and Forest Resources were presented, and on October 29, with projects focused on Buildings, Cities, Industries and Devices.

The Demo Day of the CATAL1.5°T Pre-Accelerator Programme not only meant the closure of four intense months of accompaniment and training in ESG criteria, climate impact and business development but also a starting point for the participating startups, which now have solid tools to advance their mission to create a positive impact on the climate crisis. Throughout the programme, the startups strengthened their business models, developed their technical and strategic capabilities, and received support on inclusion and sustainability issues to address the challenges of the climate technology sector, in addition to the funding of fifteen thousand euros.
